I have spoken with a lot of my friends this week and I have enjoyed it immensely. Hopefully I will talk with more of them.


This week saw a first, Whitey and his mate were here at the same time. I see Whitey frequently but I had never seen the two of them before. They were dining on fresh sushi!!


Tuesday, Dr. Campbell a pain management specialist gave me an injection in my spine to try and control the pain some. So far I can not tell any benefit from this cortisone injection.


Also on what I call Road Runner Alley, I saw a Road Runner. They are a tall bird. It was strutting across the road like he owned it. But I was moving right along and he decided to fly. He only flew about 20 feet then it was back to running.


At the bank yesterday a crackle, a bird between the size of a blackbird and a crow was on the parking lot when a butterfly of some type flew buy. The crackle saw it and took off after. It was not a good day for the butterfly. The last time I saw it the crackle had it and was heading home to either feed the young ones or for a tasty lunch.

    Hey I sure love hearing about your friends. I brought our son and his girlfriend down last Friday. They enjoyed their time here. We have a couple of foxes that they got to enjoy seeing. They left yesterday morning and passed Curtis on his way down at Colby, Kansas. Curtis made it here at. Lettie 3 this morning. Now he is going to spend the day sleeping 😴. I certainly wish they could find something that helped everyone be pain free. Later you take care of yourself

    I've had some of those shots ... sometimes it takes several days to take effect. Hopefully it works for you. I love your critter tales!!!

Carol's Dragon Fly Ranch home of Carol's Pond March 7, 2021 Hopefully hibernation season is over. It appears that spring has sprung. There were a lot of daffodils blooming in the side ditch but a hard rain beat about all of the blooms off the stems. But more popped up, including the ones in Carol's yard. Also there are tiny white flowers and some blue and purple ones as well and of course my favorite, dandelions. During that cold snap, Carol's Pond froze over and that is not acceptable at all. Mother Nature are you listening? There were several ducks that stuck around most of the winter, but I have not seen them today. They were very fast swimmers, fast enough to create a good wake behind them. I dubbed them the Shore Patrol. Those of you that were in the military know what the shore patrol is. June 20, 2023 Carol's Dragonfly Ranch Home of Carol's Pond The last few days have been a pain in my acetabulum. Last Wednesday night, just past midnight, the power went out. No big deal. It happens way too frequently here. So I went to bed. The next morning I still did not have power. I looked out in the back yard and 2 of my neighbors oak trees are now in my backyard. My neighbor to the east of me, lost 6 trees. The guy 2 doors west decided to loan Debbie an oak tree since 2 of hers were AWOL. Today, June 20 th , the power came back on around 1300 hours or 1:00 p.m. So in all it was out 5 and a half days. What a PITA (pain in the ass). I finally broke down and went to a motel. I can handle the heat at night and sleep fairly well. But after 4 days, I needed a shower desperately. I smelled worse than a hog pen. This was a major storm that did a lot of damage across a very large area. Since I do not have a TV I get my news off the internet. Shrevep
