Carol’s Dragonfly Ranch

Home of Carol’s Pond

July 20, 2025

So far, July has been a month of travel and of falls. I fell once in Indiana at my Sister-in-Laws house while trying to move a footstool that must weigh 16 tons, more or less. More I think. The only injury was to my little toe on my right foot. I have no idea how I did it. And I have fallen 4 times since I got home. No injuries. I tend to fall when I first get out of bed and I fall back onto the bed. It just makes me mad.

Thankfully this area did not receive the rain or storms that Kerr County did. Kerr County is 458 miles from Titus County where Carol’s Pond is located.

I arrived in Indiana on July 1st so I would be in time for Carol’s and my 6th Anniversary. Last year I was not in shape to drive it and I will not get on another stinking airplane. Our Anniversary is July 2nd. On July 5th the Class of 66 had its 59th reunion. Jerry Mundell was also in Lebanon and we convoyed back. Jerry spent the night and left for New Mexico the next morning.

I think summer time is finally here. It has been very warm which beats the cold all to pieces. I had been toying with the idea of moving back to Lebanon. But after being there for 5 days and seeing what all the idiots have done to down town Lebanon, there is no way.

Later,

Rex

  1. Curtis hates downtown Lebanon also. We really enjoyed seeing you and Jerry plus the others at the class get together. So enjoyable!!! Glad you didn't get that flooding. I guess they had 8 inches in south Jay the other night. We didn't get it at our house. We are in Colorado and will be headed back to Oklahoma in morning. Got to see a couple ladies, I know and got to go to a couple bead stores.

  2. I love that you celebrate your anniversary Rex. Carol would be proud. I looked you up on the map when I heard about the flooding. Glad you were not hit by that. I remember driving through Lebanon on my trip to Maine, but we didn't stop. I think the same thing is happening to towns all over, including mine. Our downtown was made into a one-way street mess. Then they decided to change it up ... they made the one way go the opposite direction. Now it's a one-way mess going the other way.
