Happy New Year, it has been rather quiet here around the pond. Whitey and Blue Boy stopped in for a visit but did not stay long. I have seen Hawkeye or Hooter fly past but they were too far out to correctly identify the right one. As fast as they were moving it could have been either one or both.


Now for some news. Hospice is coming Monday to speak with me and get me set up for it. If possible, I will remain at home. The prostate is the problem. What may be difficult for some to comprehend, I look forward to passing. Why? I have been in constant pain for over 21 years. In my life I have had 15 surgeries, 6 kidney procedures and 34 broken bones. Enough is enough. The prostate can not be surgically removed because of scar tissue. Thus the only option is radiation and I told the doctor to radiate himself. I do not believe in radiation. In my opinion, they use too much and it destroys things it shouldn't.

    I understand completely Rex. I'm so sorry you had to go through all this pain for so many years. I really appreciate your efforts to keep the blog going and keep in touch. The good news is I know you are looking forward to being with Carol in Heaven. What a celebration that will be! I'll keep in touch by email.

Carol's Dragon Fly Ranch home of Carol's Pond March 7, 2021 Hopefully hibernation season is over. It appears that spring has sprung. There were a lot of daffodils blooming in the side ditch but a hard rain beat about all of the blooms off the stems. But more popped up, including the ones in Carol's yard. Also there are tiny white flowers and some blue and purple ones as well and of course my favorite, dandelions. During that cold snap, Carol's Pond froze over and that is not acceptable at all. Mother Nature are you listening? There were several ducks that stuck around most of the winter, but I have not seen them today. They were very fast swimmers, fast enough to create a good wake behind them. I dubbed them the Shore Patrol. Those of you that were in the military know what the shore patrol is.   Carol's Dragon Fly Ranch Home of Carol's Pond August 7, 2023 It has been an eventful couple of weeks. My friend Tom and I have been power washing and staining the deck. About 2 weeks ago I was power washing the deck and stepped in a fire ant nest. I do not have much feeling in my left foot. Finally they got above my knee and I discovered the monsters. I stripped out on the deck. But the damage was done. There was about a 2 inch band all around the top of my ankle high socks. They even got down inside my sock and bit my big toe!!! Now that is just mean. This was on Thursday. Friday I was kneeling and trying to connect a hose to the spigot. I lost my balance and fell landing half on and half off the deck. My right ribs aren't real happy yet. But the worst was having my right arm land right in a fire ant nest. For most, no big deal, but I am not strong enough to get up off the ground.
