Today is a disgusting day!! The last three days have been disgusting too, but today was the worst. When I got up this morning and looked out at Carol's Pond, the ducks were gone and there was skim ice all across the pond. That sucks. The weather has been very cold, it was 9 this morning and that sucks too. It is supposed to get to 35 this afternoon and I hope it does.


I have talked to Mother Nature about this weather but I don't think she is listening to me. If she keeps this up I may have to take action. What can I do to Mother Nature? I can go out on the deck and shoot her a full Moon and nobody wants to see that!!

    I've been hearing about your nasty weather!! Give Her what for Rex!!!!! I'm way on the outskirts of your cold, but still having a hard time keeping Mr. Jonathan warm. Let us know how it goes!

Carol's Dragon Fly Ranch home of Carol's Pond March 7, 2021 Hopefully hibernation season is over. It appears that spring has sprung. There were a lot of daffodils blooming in the side ditch but a hard rain beat about all of the blooms off the stems. But more popped up, including the ones in Carol's yard. Also there are tiny white flowers and some blue and purple ones as well and of course my favorite, dandelions. During that cold snap, Carol's Pond froze over and that is not acceptable at all. Mother Nature are you listening? There were several ducks that stuck around most of the winter, but I have not seen them today. They were very fast swimmers, fast enough to create a good wake behind them. I dubbed them the Shore Patrol. Those of you that were in the military know what the shore patrol is.   Carol's Dragon Fly Ranch Home of Carol's Pond August 7, 2023 It has been an eventful couple of weeks. My friend Tom and I have been power washing and staining the deck. About 2 weeks ago I was power washing the deck and stepped in a fire ant nest. I do not have much feeling in my left foot. Finally they got above my knee and I discovered the monsters. I stripped out on the deck. But the damage was done. There was about a 2 inch band all around the top of my ankle high socks. They even got down inside my sock and bit my big toe!!! Now that is just mean. This was on Thursday. Friday I was kneeling and trying to connect a hose to the spigot. I lost my balance and fell landing half on and half off the deck. My right ribs aren't real happy yet. But the worst was having my right arm land right in a fire ant nest. For most, no big deal, but I am not strong enough to get up off the ground.
