Carol's Dragon Fly Ranch home of Carol's Pond January 21, 2021 I must be real difficult to live with because all of my pets have moved out!!! Good riddance. But all of the Parkinson's creatures are gone and that is great. But there are some new seasonal residents on Carol's Pond, Bufflehead ducks, I think. They are pretty and they cruise around like they are on patrol. There are about 18 to 24 of them and I think there are 2 mallard hens with them. I would like to see them stick around all year. Whitey, the Great White Egret stopped in for breakfast. I had not seen him for several weeks and I figured he had moved farther south. Some hawks have started showing up too. January 11, I was supposed to have cataract surgery in Tyler, TX. Tyler is about 70 to 75 miles from me, so Lorna Bailey and I went to Tyler on Sunday night. It was snowing hard and people in southeast TX have no idea how to drive in it. Many of them insisted on driving in the left lan...

Carol's Dragon Fly Ranch home of Carol's Pond January 2, 2021 To get to the blog: carolspond.blogspot.com And once again, I have some new 'roommates', compliments of Parkinson's. The goat, the poodle and the one claw lobster and the cat have moved out. Good riddance. But in their place I sometimes have a pig that goes scooting across the ceiling or sometimes a wolf. The wolf is crouched down like it is stalking something. What I find weird, is that the ones that move, move from north to south or left to right. When I still lived in St. Louis, I went to the Jefferson Barracks VA hospital. The Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery is also on that property. There are more than 188,000 graves at this site. While on the property, I have seen deer, a lot of ground hogs and one morning a coyote stalking his prey. I wanted to stop and watch but some jerk was right on my bumper. I should have locked up the brakes. Since my last update, I had a Covid scare...

Carol's Dragon Fly Ranch home of Carol's Pond December 14, 2020 Carolspond.blogspot.com This link will get you to the blog. There are a couple of new Facebook type organizations out there. One is: https://mewe.com/ and the other is: https://parler.com/auth/access Right now I am leaning towards MeWe.com I will let you know. But there is some news from Carol's Pond. I have a new roomate, kind of, compliments of Parkinson's Disease. One of the side effects of PD, is seeing things that are not really there. I believe the proper term is apparition or hallucinations. When I was in Indiana last summer, in the morning there was a lobster that only had one claw up on the ceiling and to the side of it was a standard size poodle that had been groomed. But alas they have moved on and my new roommate is a long haired goat with horns. In the morning when I first wake up it will kind of hop across the ceiling. How the lobster or the poodle or the goat ...

Carol's Dragon Fly Ranch home of Carol's Pond December 1, 2020 There are several items to discuss from Carol's Pond, the main one is Sam Rodgers failure to control his livestock. I walked in the atrium today and Samantha was up near the ceiling. I pushed her down with a broom and she ran under the stereo cabinet and refused to come out. So I waited about 20 minutes and saw her on a box. I got after her with the broom again and she tried to hide in the box. That was perfect. Out the door she went and is now under the deck where she belongs. I think she wants to set up permanent residence in the atrium and that will not be permitted. Also since the last update a flock of ducks stopped in for a few hours. I think they were mallards, but I could not see them well enough to be sure. They were on the far side of Carol's Pond and even with binoculars I could not determine the species. We seldom get ducks here and there are no Canada geese either. A few du...

Carol's Dragon Fly Ranch home of Carol's Pond November 10, 2020 Well, the blog is up and running at: Carolspond.blogspot.com I will be on FB for about a week and then I will deactivate my account. And then all news from Carol's Pond will be on the blog. Speaking of the blog, nothing will be tracked and their will not be any advertisements on it. There is a new network that I may look into. It is: https://parler.com/auth/access and they say no censorship etc. But in the mean time, fall colors are finally beginning to show up here at Carol's Pond. Many of the trees have yet to turn but there is some color. Sunday night I had to chase Samantha out with a shoe. She was wanting to move in. That is not acceptable. Whitey has been here about everyday and he even tried to take over the turtles log. The turtles did not care but another Great White Egret came along and chased him off the log. But he was back on it the next day. One day there were...

Hello from Carol's Pond Several have asked me to continue on FB. I can not in good conscience do that. So, William Bingham suggested a blog. I thought about it and here it is.
